People always ask do I do cardio, and the answer is yes and no. Yes I do cardio, but not your basic type of cardio like walking or jogging on a treadmill, stairmaster, or elliptical trainers for 20 minutes or more at the same speed. I incorporate; usually at the end of the workout; high intensity training doing multiple exercises that requires functionality like frog, bear crawls, walking lunges with a twist or kickback, high jumps etc etc. In this video, I am demonstrating sprint intervals on a treadmill. The benefits of doing interval sprint training either around a track or on a treadmill are:
1. Your body continues to burn calories after you sprint
2. Sprinting increases muscle growth
3. You receive great gains on the cardiovascular, and endurance just like steady pace running for distance without muscle atrophy.
